Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

I absolutely love the sea. If you know me that’s no secret. Everything about it makes me feel so happy and relaxed. Last weekend I went to Staithes with my family and it’s one of the seaside villages (relatively) near us that I love the most. We stayed in a really cute cottage which was perfect for what we needed and just chilled. I spent hours and hours just sitting on the wave breakers, reading (and shivering, it was cold!). The pub there is also one of the best I’ve ever been to, the staff are so friendly and the vibe is just so laid back and he food is AMAZING! I’ve only got a few photos from this weekend but I wanted to share them anyway as it’s such a nice place.

I’m now back at school at wishing I was by the sea again 😦

I got very snap happy… This post includes elephants, monkeys, beautiful buildings, so many amazing colourful scarves and sarees and me looking very touristy in front of India Gate and in a Rickshaw haha!

My Travel Makeup and Skincare | India 2017

Hey guys! I’m back (hopefully to stay) with a very summery, holiday themed post. I’m going to be telling you what I took makeup and skincare wise on my trip to India. I knew it would be really hot so it’d be basic and stripped back but I wasn’t quite prepared for how busy and therefore tired I’d be. I wore a bit in the evenings if we went out for a meal but overall I just didn’t feel like wearing that much makeup and in the end just let the sun get to my skin. I did however use all the skincare I took with me. So let’s goooooooooo…

La Roche Posay Anthelios Cream

This sun cream is so amazing. It feels like a really nice moisturizer on the skin and doesn’t leave a white cast at all which has happened when I’ve tried others. It didn’t break me out at all which is what I’m always anxious about with sun cream. It also works really well with makeup over the top and doesn’t affect it at all.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

I’ve loved this moisturizer for a while but on holiday I found this really helped with sunburn and acted as an aftersun which was really good because my body after sun is so sticky which is not nice on ya face.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5

Again this was really nice as an after sun because it’s so cooling.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream (soz it’s a bit blurry)

Nivea Sun Protect SPF 30

I didn’t actually use this a lot because I ended up buying the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream in duty free so I used that instead. It’s amazing!

OPI Nail Lacquer ‘Go With The Lava Flow’ and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

MAC Studio Fix Powder

Tanya Burr Rosy Flush Cheek Palette

Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow ‘On and on Bronze’

Tanya Burr Enchanted Dream Palette

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

Hope you’ve all had an amazing summer!

Just A Check In

Hey guys,

This is just a really brief post to let you know that I’m flying to India tomorrow and won’t have anyway to write or post blog posts out there (it’s a ranger trip. No phones allowed etc!) but when I get back you can bet there will be so so so many because I have so many ideas!

Can’t wait to start writing again and I hope your summer is fab!

Thanks for reading (if anyone still is, it’s been a  while so you might have all given up on me!)

Brew and Brownie

Recently I went for lunch with my Mum at Brew and Brownie in York and it was SO GOOD!! Really too good not to share on here!

The cafe is on Lendal in York right opposite the Archive Library and Museum Gardens, which is one of my favourite areas of York. The outside of the cafe just looks so appealing and friendly, not to mention all the cakes in the window drawing me in!! I also love the shop sign and logo a lot. I didn’t get to try their American pancake stack but I’ve heard they’re so so so good and a woman next to me had one and it looked delish.

As you can see it is beautiful inside too, I love the brick tiles, the jar lights and the rustic wood surfaces so much! The atmosphere was also lovely and the staff working there were sososo friendly.

I had Smashed Avocado and Bacon on Sourdough Toast and Crunchie Brownie and it was IIIIINNNNCREDIBLE. I could just do with one of those brownies right now. The smashed avo was delicious and another thing I noticed, looking at my food and everyone else’s, it’s all beautifully presented. It even had fancy purple leaves on top of the smashed avo! The crunchie brownie was also delicious, so gooey and sticky which I think is how they should be. And even though they were so chocolatey they weren’t sickly. Perfect! I was also looking at the Oreo Brownies but I’ve made them before myself so I decided to go for something a bit different, but as you can see they also look amazing!

A Couple of Skin Saviours

Recently my skin has been awful with a capital A. It’s been so dry and dehydrated and I have been desperate to fix it so I’ve been hunting for things that might work.

Bioderma Hydrabio Gel-Creme (£14)

I came across this moisturiser in a little independent pharmacy in my local town and the things it says on the tube sounded promising so I bought it. Bioderma is a brand that I have never used before but I have heard a lot of good things about their micellar waters so I thought it would be worth giving a go. The moisturisers I’ve used in the past have always been a bit meh, they were never quite right and most of them either broke me out or left my skin feeling soft but tight which I HATE! Although the moisturiser says it is for normal to combination skin, it is so so hydrating and makes my skin feel really soft, smooth and best of all, no dry patches! I also love that the tube has a pump on it, not just a squeezy tube.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (£6)

I have never used a serum before but I heard saw Fleur De Force talk about this brand and how it works (you can watch her video here) and I thought it sounded like what my skin might need so I gave it a go. Let me tell you, I love this stuff. Although the combination of this and the moisturiser above are what has helped my skin I reckon most of it is down to this, and it’s so affordable! It feels like I’m giving my skin a long drink when I put this on and you only need a tiny amount too! Seriously love!!

Thanks so much for reading!

A Chilled Night In

I thought I’d run you through the products I use to have a pamper night because having time to yourself to relax is really important especially if you’re feeling low after the festive season is over.

The first thing I like to do is have a bath because they are just the ULTIMATE relax, physically (so nice fore aching muscles) and mentally to just block everything out, Personally I like to watch a bit of YouTube in the bath or read a book.

In the Bath

Lush Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb

Zoella Sugar Dip and Pretty Polished

Out of the bath

Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion; Simple Moisturising Facial Wash; Nivea Makeup Remover; Pixi Glow Tonic; The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Lotion

Another little treat you can add for extra pamper is some chocolate (I definitely did!)

Hope you enjoyed reading! I’m hoping to have a few more blog posts up soon and a pretty exciting on mid-February if all goes to plan!!

An Update

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted in ages, I’ve just been so busy and weighed down with school work. A-levels are hard!! I have a blog post that I want to put out but at the moment my laptop is broken so I haven’t been able to write it or upload the photos. When that is fixed I really want to get back to my blog. I miss it! Hopefully there will be a post from me soon.

Hope you all had a great Christmas too and that you have a great New Year! Here’s to an amazing 2017!

As always, thanks for reading and your support!

Elegant Touch Nails

I’ve been wanting to try false nails for a while now since Zoe (Zoella) included them in a favourites video and yesterday I picked up some Elegant Touch ones in Boots and I thought I’d give them a go. Here are my thoughts…

Firstly they are so easy to apply, just brush on the glue and press the nail on for 4 seconds, the glue dries so quickly! Secondly they look so good because they are thinner near the nail bed so they just blend upwards from the cuticle. They are also so comfortable to wear because they’re really flexible and fit to the shape of your nail really well. The colour I got is the Polished Garnet ones because I liked the autumnal look of the wine red colour but there are so many more interesting colours and designs which I want to try, they even have rose gold metallic ones! The only thing I would say about them is that if you have smaller nails you might find it hard fitting them because, and especially on the thumb nail, they are quite wide. I also had to trim down the nail on my thumb because it looked too long but they look completely fine when they’ve been trimmed and filed down.

Sisley Skincare Review

I have been trying the Sisley skincare that was i the box I was sent for my birthday a while ago and let me tell you, it is so luxurious!

Sisley Lyslait Cleansing Milk with White Lily – £70

This cleanser claims to clean deeply but gently and remove makeup and impurities and I would completely agree with that. My skin feels so clean and soft after using this. Lyslait maintains the balance in dry and sensitive skin which I love because my skin is always so dry and dehydrated so any extra moisture I can get is so good! The White Lily extract is meant to create a sensation of comfort and leave the skin feeling luminous, supple, and soft and it definitely does, my skin glows the day after using this.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion – £61.50

The Floral Toning Lotion for removing makeup completely and cleansing the skin and this toner does leave the skin feeling so clean and clear. The extracts of rose, cornflower, and Witch Hazel soothe and soften the skin which makes it so good for dry, sensitive skin and I love how hydrating this is especially along with the Lyslait cleanser.

Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Balm – £81.50

Personally I just use this balm around my eye area because I don’t need it round my lips but I love it just for that. The combination of tomato phytostimulines and vegetable proteins in the eye balm are really good for treating under-eye puffiness and smoothing and moisturising the skin around the eyes. It is supposed to help to protect the delicate skin and prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (I can’t test this yet but it probably does a great job because it’s so hydrating!). It freshens up your eyes because the gel like texture is so cooling and it makes you feel so much more awake in the morning.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Will you treat yourself to a product from the Sisley counter?

Thanks for reading!
