Sephora Haul – France 2016

Sorry I’ve been gone so long, I hadn’t quite anticipated how busy I was going to be. I literally only had a week free but I’ve had an amazing time despite the busyness!

For my holiday this year I went to France with my family and I was desperate to visit a Sephora this time as we don’t have it here in the UK, and  I went! It was so cool to go and see what they had and I picked up few bits which I’m going to show you in this post. Get excited for all the Sephora beautifulness *heart eye emojis*

Sephora Sunbleached Filter Eyeshadow Palette

This palette has the most gorgeous colours in it and the eyeshadows have such good pigmentation. There is the perfect mix of shimmers and mattes and I JUST LOVE THIS PALETTE. Not to mention the packaging if beaut too.

Sephora PRO Airbrush #55

I bought this on recommendation from HelloOctober (who if you don’t read or watch on YT, you should) and this is probably the softest brush I’ve ever felt and is perfect for blending in concealer and foundation but also applying bronzer, blush and highlight. A perfect all rounder.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain Watermelon Slice 09

First of all, I love this colour but I didn’t realise how bright it was and I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to wear it. The consistency is really nice and once it’s set it isn’t going anywhere but it is very bright!

Formula X Nail Color Ignite

This is a perfect nail colour for autumn. I love when you can start whipping out the reds and berry purples and this is the perfect berry/wine red. It applies really smoothly too and stays on for about 5 without a topcoat, even longer with one!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and that it might havegiven you some things to add t your Sephora shopping list!

Thanks for reading!

What I Got For My Birthday

It was my birthday on the 4th June which was during exams but I thought I’d post this anyway because I love reading these posts and watching these type of videos on YouTube. I’m just a bit nosey really!

Pandora Grand Pearl Ring

I got this from my Mum and Dad for my birthday as they wanted me to have something special for my 16th that I could keep forever and I really love it, pearls are my favourite stone.

Topshop Straw Hat

This was also from my Mum and Dad but was an impulse buy when my Mum and I were shopping on my birthday. I love it and I think it looks great with a denim skirt. A lil’ bit 70’s maybe?

Jack Wills Ledram T-shirt

I got this t-shirt from my auntie and uncle as they know that I love Jack Wills. I really like the vintage casual vibe they have and this t-shirt is no exception. So soft and comfy!

jack wills ledram

Jack Wills Fullford T-shirt

This is also from my auntie and uncle and is also a really soft and comfy basic t-shirt but is a slightly brighter colour, pink! I’m usually reluctant to go for colour unless it’s blue but I really love this and I think it goes quite nicely with my hair colour. (If I do say so myself)

Jack Wills Oxnam T-shirt

Again from my auntie and uncle, and also so soft and comfy but this one is less casual because of the flower cutout detail at the hem on the sleeve and waistline but I think it’s super pretty. Mine is actually in white but you can see the detail better on the blue.

NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Nude

This was from my friend Holly who loves it and so gave it to me. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks so pretty!

NYX Hot Singles Eye Shadow in J’adore

This is such a pretty colour and such a good quality eyeshadow, so creamy and pigmented. I love it! This was also from Holly.

Oliver Bonas Gold Alphabet Letter

This was from my friend Emily who knew I’d had my eye on this since last year after seeing that Zoe (Zoella on YouTube) had them in her living room. It is so beautiful and adds a really special personal touch to a room.

V&A Fashion Timeline Journal

This was from my friend Izzy and I love it. It’s such a good idea and I’m obsessed with the decades so it was perfect. I especially love the fact you can draw your own ideas on the pages next to the images in the book. Izzy also gave me some chocolate but I have already eaten that… obvs

Pylones Berlin Scarf

As you know I went to Berlin earlier this year and my a friend that came with me, Caitlin, gave me a scarf with lots of Berlin landmarks on it and I love it. The colours go beautifully together too.

MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

This was from my chum Freyr and I totally wasn’t expecting it. It was such a nice surprise and it was in a colour I had wanted for such a long time!

Disney Mickey Mouse Hands Tote Bag

This was a present from my friend Amy and I love it. I collect Disney things and I definitely have an obsession and this is such a nice classic Disney item. Amy also made me a kilner jar with the dry ingredients for fudgey brownies which I made the other day and they were so delicious!

Primark Light Up ‘A’

This was from my friend Holly (a different Holly) and was such a nice present idea. I absolutely love how it looks in my room and goes really well on my chest of drawers with the other ‘A’.

Primark Pink Grapefruit Candle

This was also from Holly and it smells delicious! It’s sweet and fruity and it burns really well and really evenly!

That was everything I got for my birthday. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me presents, I love everything and I’m so grateful, so thank you.

Thanks for reading.

A Healthy Breakfast

Recently my usual cereal hasn’t been keeping me full up until break time so I needed to find something that does. I know porridge is a really healthy breakfast and it keeps you really full but I’ve never really been a massive fan of it so I need a way of making myself like it. This is in no way an original idea but i thought I’d share it with you anyway.

Porridge oats

Water or milk (any kind)

Agave nectar

Frozen fruit of your choice

  1. Make the porridge in the normal way you usually. I use half a mug of porridge oats and a full mug of almond milk.
  2. Pour your porridge into a bowl and top with your frozen fruit of choice, I use berries as I think they’re the nicest but you can change it up and use whatever you want to!
  3. Drizzle on some agave nectar for some added sweetness (blackurrants can be sour!) and voila!

I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some breakfast inspo! Thanks for reading.

Lush Lovin’

My Mum and I have recently been on the hunt for soaps free of palm oil because of the damage that harvesting it does to habitats of animals, orangutans in particular. The other day I suddenly thought of Lush as they advertise themselves as a cruelty free brand and so I did a bit of research and voila, no palm oil in their soaps! Here are the three we bought:

Honey I Washed The Kids

Lush describes this soap as ‘a caramel-scented soap that lifts your mood and soothes and softens skin. Gentle enough to wash young skins, it’s like washing with crème brûlée in solid form. This soap contains mood-brightening sweet wild orange and bergamot oils as well as the soothing properties of honey and aloe vera gel.’

So far I’ve only smelt this one but I would agree with their description. It has a very sweet, caramel-puddingy smell and I love it. It smells and looks good enough to eat!

Lush’s description is ‘Don’t leave sweet dreams to chance, try this skin-soothing French lavender and chamomile lullaby for the sweetest golden slumbers. When bedtime approaches, turn to a trusted blend of relaxing herbs and reach for Serendipity.’

Personally I love the smell of lavender, I find it so calming and soothing. It reminds me a bit of when I was younger because we used to have it in our front garden and you could smell it when playing on the road outside our house with friends.

Lush’s description is ‘One of your favourites (and ours), this is a solid soap with a light citrus scent. A simple but powerful blend of lemon oil and glycerine, with a palm-free soap base. Bohemian is gently cleansing, perfect for adding a little lift to your day. We put lemon oil in here to act as a pick-me-up, refreshing your mind and mood.’

I’m not actually a fan of citrus smells (my Mum chose this one) but it smells very lemony, not really a light citrus scent… It’s all I can smell. If you do like citrus this one is definitely for you, I think it’s the most citrusy soap that Lush make.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I’m a massive fan of Lush and I think what they stand for is also really important not to mention their incredible products.

A Belated March Faves

I’ve had quite a lot of favourites throughout this month, things that have really stood out to me or things I’ve re-discovered so here they all are in a blog post for you.

We’ll start with makeup because it’s the best, am I right?

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer 01

I’ve had this for a while now and as you can see it’s well loved but it didn’t get much use over winter and now I feel like spring is properly here (fingers crossed) I have been wearing it almost everyday. I like it because it isn’t orange and it is so pigmented but it’s not shimmery or sparkly. Just a nice natural bronzer. I also like that it comes in a range of different shades, I have 01 because I have a fair skin tone but it goes to shade 04 which is quite dark.

Soap and Glory Brow Archery Pencil

I bought this really recently after hearing really good things about it and I have to agree with all the hype. Mine’s in the shade ‘blondeshell’ and although it’s light (I’m a brunette) it works so well and makes my brows look full. The nib of the pencil is tiny which is really good because you can draw really fine hairs and get a natural look with it.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Lip Glossy – My Best Girl Friend

These are similar to the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Chubby Lip Pencils in that they are also a chubby lip pencil which, as the name would suggest, are glossy. Because of their glossiness the colour is quite sheer and the colour I have is a coral pink colour which is really pretty for spring.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Cream Eyeshadow Stick – Movie Star Crush

These are soooooo nice. They are so soft and apply really creamily which makes them easy to blend out. The pigmentation is insane, they are so opaque and the colour I have is so beautiful, a mauvy-bronze colour and even though they are so creamy once they’ve been blended they are not going anywhere. They will not budge! If there was one thing you were going to buy from this post it should be this! Below is a photo of it swatched, the left is blended and the right isn’t.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush

I bought this recently too and I love it for applying cream face products, especially cream blush. It applies it really naturally and it is so nice to use because it is so soft.

Right, now on to skincare…

No.7 Youthful Eye Serum

I’m only 15 and you probably wouldn’t think I need something with the word ‘youthful’ in it but I received this free from No.7 and I love it. I get really dry patches under my eyes and on my eyelids and this saves them overnight. It is so hydrating and leaves the skin so smooth.

Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy with Rose and Almond Oil

This is such a basic product, you probably read Vaseline and thought ‘does that even count as beauty, I thought that was in my first aid drawer’ but that is where you would be wrong, my friend. This saved my lips! I was given a sample of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and that also saved my lips but buying it full size would not have done my purse any favours so I saw that this had two types of oil in it and gave it a go. My lips are now never cracked or dry or sore, not to mention it smells incredible.

Random Fave

A random favourite of mine this month has been the TV show Once Upon a Time. I watch it on Netflix and I have been loving it. I’m up to date on Season 5 and it is getting so so so good, I’m totally hooked (if you watch it you’ll see what I did there) and I think you’ll love it too if you like Disney and fairy tales and adventure.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and you have had a good Easter break! Please excuse my nails in the photos, they look awful and need re painting!

My Go-To Nails – March 2016

The first nail polish is one from Barry M called Pit Stop. It’s from the Speedy Quick Dry range which definitely lives up to it’s name, they dry super fast which is a win for me because I’m so impatient!  I think the colour is really nice and I’m really into grey tones at the moment. This one is a slightly beigey-grey which is really nice if you want something pale and not too statement. Even without a topcoat this polish lasts for about 5 days without chipping which is really good consider some more expensive nail polishes can’t do that! The finish of this is also really smooth and glossy.

The next nail polish is by Ciate and is called Pillow Fight which I think is a great name! It’s a stormy grey colour with purple undertones and is a lot darker than Pit Stop. This also has a really long staying power and is pretty chip resistant. I’d say unlike Pit Stop that this is more of a statement colour and people always notice it on me (in a good way, I get a lot of compliments). This is more expensive than the Barry M one but is still under £10 so not bad. The finish of this is the same as the Barry M and it’s so glossy! Love it ❤

Hope you enjoyed reading and this gave some nail inspiration or maybe just made you want to buy more nail polishes… that would be me, I’m addicted, I need help.

How To Make Easter Nests

I’ve been making this recipe a lot leading up to Easter and although Easter was yesterday I think we can still get away with making these for another week yet! The recipe is really simple and I think they make a nice treat for the occasion.

200g milk chocolate (I think Cadbury’s is best)

85g shredded wheat

2 x 100g bags mini eggs

cupcakes cases

Okay let’s go! Melt the chocolate in a small pan on a low heat (keep stirring it, you don’t want burnt chocolate!)

Crush the shredded wheat in a large bowl, you can use your hands or a wooden spoon for this.

Stir in the melted chocolate making sure all the shredded wheat is covered and there is no chocolate left in the bottom.

Place into cupcake cases and put the mini eggs on top, i put three on each but you can do whatever you want with yours!

Hope you enjoyed reading and that you give this recipe a try. If you do let me know how they turn out, I’d love to see.

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I recently ordered the Cleanse and Polish online and it might have been the best money I’ve spent on my skin. After using it my skin is instantly softer and smoother and the next morning it looks so radiant. It comes with two muslins cloths which exfoliate the skin as well as cleaning it more deeply. I use one pump and put it on the back of my hand and then rub it into my face with no water. Then I dampen the muslin cloth with hot water and wipe it off in slow circular motions. The cleanser is a cream texture which makes it more rich and hydrating which is good for my skin because it is really dry and the natural ingredients are really beneficial for my sensitive skin.

I hope you enjoyed reading and that this might have helped if you have a similar skin type to me, it’s a skin saviour!
