My Travel Makeup and Skincare | India 2017

Hey guys! I’m back (hopefully to stay) with a very summery, holiday themed post. I’m going to be telling you what I took makeup and skincare wise on my trip to India. I knew it would be really hot so it’d be basic and stripped back but I wasn’t quite prepared for how busy and therefore tired I’d be. I wore a bit in the evenings if we went out for a meal but overall I just didn’t feel like wearing that much makeup and in the end just let the sun get to my skin. I did however use all the skincare I took with me. So let’s goooooooooo…

La Roche Posay Anthelios Cream

This sun cream is so amazing. It feels like a really nice moisturizer on the skin and doesn’t leave a white cast at all which has happened when I’ve tried others. It didn’t break me out at all which is what I’m always anxious about with sun cream. It also works really well with makeup over the top and doesn’t affect it at all.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

I’ve loved this moisturizer for a while but on holiday I found this really helped with sunburn and acted as an aftersun which was really good because my body after sun is so sticky which is not nice on ya face.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5

Again this was really nice as an after sun because it’s so cooling.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream (soz it’s a bit blurry)

Nivea Sun Protect SPF 30

I didn’t actually use this a lot because I ended up buying the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream in duty free so I used that instead. It’s amazing!

OPI Nail Lacquer ‘Go With The Lava Flow’ and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

MAC Studio Fix Powder

Tanya Burr Rosy Flush Cheek Palette

Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow ‘On and on Bronze’

Tanya Burr Enchanted Dream Palette

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

Hope you’ve all had an amazing summer!

Sephora Haul – France 2016

Sorry I’ve been gone so long, I hadn’t quite anticipated how busy I was going to be. I literally only had a week free but I’ve had an amazing time despite the busyness!

For my holiday this year I went to France with my family and I was desperate to visit a Sephora this time as we don’t have it here in the UK, and  I went! It was so cool to go and see what they had and I picked up few bits which I’m going to show you in this post. Get excited for all the Sephora beautifulness *heart eye emojis*

Sephora Sunbleached Filter Eyeshadow Palette

This palette has the most gorgeous colours in it and the eyeshadows have such good pigmentation. There is the perfect mix of shimmers and mattes and I JUST LOVE THIS PALETTE. Not to mention the packaging if beaut too.

Sephora PRO Airbrush #55

I bought this on recommendation from HelloOctober (who if you don’t read or watch on YT, you should) and this is probably the softest brush I’ve ever felt and is perfect for blending in concealer and foundation but also applying bronzer, blush and highlight. A perfect all rounder.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain Watermelon Slice 09

First of all, I love this colour but I didn’t realise how bright it was and I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to wear it. The consistency is really nice and once it’s set it isn’t going anywhere but it is very bright!

Formula X Nail Color Ignite

This is a perfect nail colour for autumn. I love when you can start whipping out the reds and berry purples and this is the perfect berry/wine red. It applies really smoothly too and stays on for about 5 without a topcoat, even longer with one!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and that it might havegiven you some things to add t your Sephora shopping list!

Thanks for reading!

What I Got For My Birthday

It was my birthday on the 4th June which was during exams but I thought I’d post this anyway because I love reading these posts and watching these type of videos on YouTube. I’m just a bit nosey really!

Pandora Grand Pearl Ring

I got this from my Mum and Dad for my birthday as they wanted me to have something special for my 16th that I could keep forever and I really love it, pearls are my favourite stone.

Topshop Straw Hat

This was also from my Mum and Dad but was an impulse buy when my Mum and I were shopping on my birthday. I love it and I think it looks great with a denim skirt. A lil’ bit 70’s maybe?

Jack Wills Ledram T-shirt

I got this t-shirt from my auntie and uncle as they know that I love Jack Wills. I really like the vintage casual vibe they have and this t-shirt is no exception. So soft and comfy!

jack wills ledram

Jack Wills Fullford T-shirt

This is also from my auntie and uncle and is also a really soft and comfy basic t-shirt but is a slightly brighter colour, pink! I’m usually reluctant to go for colour unless it’s blue but I really love this and I think it goes quite nicely with my hair colour. (If I do say so myself)

Jack Wills Oxnam T-shirt

Again from my auntie and uncle, and also so soft and comfy but this one is less casual because of the flower cutout detail at the hem on the sleeve and waistline but I think it’s super pretty. Mine is actually in white but you can see the detail better on the blue.

NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Nude

This was from my friend Holly who loves it and so gave it to me. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks so pretty!

NYX Hot Singles Eye Shadow in J’adore

This is such a pretty colour and such a good quality eyeshadow, so creamy and pigmented. I love it! This was also from Holly.

Oliver Bonas Gold Alphabet Letter

This was from my friend Emily who knew I’d had my eye on this since last year after seeing that Zoe (Zoella on YouTube) had them in her living room. It is so beautiful and adds a really special personal touch to a room.

V&A Fashion Timeline Journal

This was from my friend Izzy and I love it. It’s such a good idea and I’m obsessed with the decades so it was perfect. I especially love the fact you can draw your own ideas on the pages next to the images in the book. Izzy also gave me some chocolate but I have already eaten that… obvs

Pylones Berlin Scarf

As you know I went to Berlin earlier this year and my a friend that came with me, Caitlin, gave me a scarf with lots of Berlin landmarks on it and I love it. The colours go beautifully together too.

MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

This was from my chum Freyr and I totally wasn’t expecting it. It was such a nice surprise and it was in a colour I had wanted for such a long time!

Disney Mickey Mouse Hands Tote Bag

This was a present from my friend Amy and I love it. I collect Disney things and I definitely have an obsession and this is such a nice classic Disney item. Amy also made me a kilner jar with the dry ingredients for fudgey brownies which I made the other day and they were so delicious!

Primark Light Up ‘A’

This was from my friend Holly (a different Holly) and was such a nice present idea. I absolutely love how it looks in my room and goes really well on my chest of drawers with the other ‘A’.

Primark Pink Grapefruit Candle

This was also from Holly and it smells delicious! It’s sweet and fruity and it burns really well and really evenly!

That was everything I got for my birthday. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me presents, I love everything and I’m so grateful, so thank you.

Thanks for reading.

A Belated March Faves

I’ve had quite a lot of favourites throughout this month, things that have really stood out to me or things I’ve re-discovered so here they all are in a blog post for you.

We’ll start with makeup because it’s the best, am I right?

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer 01

I’ve had this for a while now and as you can see it’s well loved but it didn’t get much use over winter and now I feel like spring is properly here (fingers crossed) I have been wearing it almost everyday. I like it because it isn’t orange and it is so pigmented but it’s not shimmery or sparkly. Just a nice natural bronzer. I also like that it comes in a range of different shades, I have 01 because I have a fair skin tone but it goes to shade 04 which is quite dark.

Soap and Glory Brow Archery Pencil

I bought this really recently after hearing really good things about it and I have to agree with all the hype. Mine’s in the shade ‘blondeshell’ and although it’s light (I’m a brunette) it works so well and makes my brows look full. The nib of the pencil is tiny which is really good because you can draw really fine hairs and get a natural look with it.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Lip Glossy – My Best Girl Friend

These are similar to the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Chubby Lip Pencils in that they are also a chubby lip pencil which, as the name would suggest, are glossy. Because of their glossiness the colour is quite sheer and the colour I have is a coral pink colour which is really pretty for spring.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Cream Eyeshadow Stick – Movie Star Crush

These are soooooo nice. They are so soft and apply really creamily which makes them easy to blend out. The pigmentation is insane, they are so opaque and the colour I have is so beautiful, a mauvy-bronze colour and even though they are so creamy once they’ve been blended they are not going anywhere. They will not budge! If there was one thing you were going to buy from this post it should be this! Below is a photo of it swatched, the left is blended and the right isn’t.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush

I bought this recently too and I love it for applying cream face products, especially cream blush. It applies it really naturally and it is so nice to use because it is so soft.

Right, now on to skincare…

No.7 Youthful Eye Serum

I’m only 15 and you probably wouldn’t think I need something with the word ‘youthful’ in it but I received this free from No.7 and I love it. I get really dry patches under my eyes and on my eyelids and this saves them overnight. It is so hydrating and leaves the skin so smooth.

Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy with Rose and Almond Oil

This is such a basic product, you probably read Vaseline and thought ‘does that even count as beauty, I thought that was in my first aid drawer’ but that is where you would be wrong, my friend. This saved my lips! I was given a sample of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and that also saved my lips but buying it full size would not have done my purse any favours so I saw that this had two types of oil in it and gave it a go. My lips are now never cracked or dry or sore, not to mention it smells incredible.

Random Fave

A random favourite of mine this month has been the TV show Once Upon a Time. I watch it on Netflix and I have been loving it. I’m up to date on Season 5 and it is getting so so so good, I’m totally hooked (if you watch it you’ll see what I did there) and I think you’ll love it too if you like Disney and fairy tales and adventure.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and you have had a good Easter break! Please excuse my nails in the photos, they look awful and need re painting!

A Quick Update and My Current Fave Eye Look

UPDATE: First of all, sorry I didn’t put a post up last week, I was abit disappointed in myself as it was the first time I hadn’t in eight weeks! It’s getting closer and closer to exams at the moment so if everything goes quiet for a while now I haven’t disappeared and I’ll be back when exams are over. Hopefully my posts will be a lot better too because I’ll have more time to spend on them and I’ll have enlisted the help of my friend Emily who is an incredible photographer!

THE EYE MAKEUP: It’s very simple and I definitely knew about it before, it just hadn’t really occurred to me how easy it was and how good it looked with so little effort. It takes no time as well which is always good when you have a bus to catch! So I guess you want to know what it is now. Smudged eyeliner on your upper lash line. Some of you might have read that and gone, ‘yeah, duh, I do that all the time, it’s practically my go-to’. Well it is now mine too! I just take a pencil eyeliner and draw a messy line along my upper lash line and then use and eye brush to smudge it out. I use black or brown eyeliner usually but when the weather gets warmer I might use more brighter colours, experiment a bit. I think blue would look nice with a coraly-pink lipstick.

A Quick and Easy Way to Wash Your Makeup Brushes

I have to admit that for a while after I got into makeup, I hadn’t washed my brushes. It was just something I hadn’t really thought about until I watched Pixiwoos videos. They suggest easy ways to wash makeup brushes and I am going to share how I was mine with you.

You will need:

Your hands

Johnsons Baby Shampoo

Dirty Makeup Brushes

Let’s do this:

Step one: Start off by wetting the brush under the hot water tap and then dispense a small amount of baby shampoo into the palm of your hand.

Step two: Swirl your brush into the baby shampoo and let it lather up, rinse it off and repeat again until the brush has no more dirt coming off it.

Step three: Give your brushes a shake to get rid of the excess moisture and then lay them out on a towel to let them dry. I find they probably need a day which is why I wash mine on a Sunday when I usually don’t wear any makeup. (If you want them to dry a bit quicker you could swirl them around on the towel but this could damage the bristles so I tend not to)

That’s it. Easy, right? If you have any different ways of washing your brushes, let me know in the comments! Hope you enjoyed reading.

Vintage Makeup: My Small Collection

Makeup is something that really interests me , not only buying new makeup and trying it out all day but also vintage makeup. I find the retro packaging and the shades that were on trend in the time it was produced so interesting. Here I have included a few photos of some vintage makeup I have.

This is a Christian Dior lipstick that was my grannie’s. As you can see from the photo there is still some left and it is a reddy-brown colour. The lipstick is called 636 Tailleur and has a sheen finish. They no longer make this colour (not that I could find anyway!) but you can buy it on eBay.

This is a Max Factor lipstick which is my Mum’s. The finish is called moisture rich and it’s in the shade 16 Indian Spice. It’s a coral-pink colour (although it doesn’t look like it in the photo) which I actually think is really pretty! They don’t make this anymore but you can get other moisture rich lipsticks on amazon.

DSCN1966                                     DSCN1962

This is the oldest item I have and I think it’s from the 1940’s-1950’s. It is a Vogue Vanities Powder Compact with an enamel elephants and giraffe pattern on the front. The puff is made from swans down which made it very soft and from my research, it says the pattern is a baby shower theme (I don’t know whether that’s right though so don’t hold me to it!)

This is a 1950’s powder compact from Max Factor. It’s called Hi-Five and is in the shade Honey Haze which is very pink toned. From researching this i think it would have originally come in a set with a lipstick as well but I bought it in an antique shop and there wasn’t a lipstick with it.

I hope you found this interesting, it is something I’m very interested in. If you have any vintage makeup tell me what it is and when its from in the comments. If you would like anymore posts about vintage makeup let me know.
